So good afternoon and many thanks to all of those teachers today who turned up in Armagh golf club to assist with a great Finals day. It started off with the match play final featuring Banbridge Academy and Coleraine grammar. Ultimately it came down to one game which was close and on the 17th green, separation occurred with the young Banbridge player emerging victorious. So for the record the result was Banbridge Academy 3 Coleraine grammar 2.
The other portion of the day involved a multitude of schools playing in a fourball scramble format. The winners were a team comprising of pupils from Saint Patrick’s Keady (Natasha), Victoria College Belfast (Abbie), OLSP Knock (Peter) and St Ciaran’s Ballygawley (Finbar).
Many thanks to those schools who contributed to the two charities, Abbey CBS, OLSP Knock, Holy Cross Strabane, Coleraine Grammar, St Joseph’s High school Newry and my own school Saint Patrick’s Keady. We handed over £2550 to the Newry Hospice and £1120 to the Children’s kidney fund NI.
Many thanks to DP World tour for sponsoring some tickets to the Irish Open down in the k Club for the kids and Modest Golf for giving the young golfers the opportunity of going down to Galgorm and Castlerock for the ISPS Handa golf tournament. Armagh golf club were extremely generous and the course is in great condition folks.
